Pulca uses advanced technology called remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) to measure your vital signs without any physical contact.
When your heart beats, it sends blood through your body, causing subtle color changes in your facial skin that are invisible to the naked eye but detectable by a camera. Our app uses your device's camera to analyze these microscopic changes:
Video Analysis: During a 60-second scan, the app captures video of your face
Signal Processing: Advanced algorithms detect subtle color changes related to blood flow
Data Transformation: The system transforms the captured video into an extremely low-resolution dataset
Measurement Calculation: The processed data is used to calculate your heart rate, breathing rate, and other vital signs
All computational analyses required to derive biosignals are performed exclusively in real-time from the video feed itself:
Processing happens entirely on your device
No facial or biometric data is retained or transmitted
No data is stored or shared with third parties
All processing occurs instantly during the scan
